Welcome back to our monthly newsletter!
For the month of August, we have decided to send out a lite version of our newsletter as many of our readers are currently on holiday and enjoying the warm summer weather. But rest assured we are working on a lot of exciting stuff behind the scenes!
Events: London New Tech #61 🤩

Events: Legal Entity and Shareholder Agreement webinar by Sterling Law ✍️
From next month, Sterling Law and London New Tech will be collaborating on a legal webinar series that aims to support startups and founders from start to exit. We had initially planned to host the event in August, however, due to the holiday period, we decided to move the event to September. The first webinar will be on the topic of “Legal entities and shareholder agreements”. We will send out the link in the September newsletter so you can sign up for the event for free.

Events: Angel Investing School (AIS) 🌅
We are excited to share with you that applications are still open for the Angel Investing School led by Andy Ayim.
The Angel Investing School trains professionals from all backgrounds on how to get started with investing in startups. They provide a concise online curriculum via real-time webinars, led by experienced angel investors in combination with a peer to peer network of aspiring investors.

Investors: Black Venture Institute 🌱
Applications are now open to join the Black Venture Institute. Black Venture Institute teaches foundational venture principles like financing, sourcing, diligence, and corporate governance. Fellows learn how investors evaluate opportunities and negotiate terms from top industry minds, business leaders, and UC Berkeley professors.
The Fall 2021 Cohort will be October 28 - November 12, 2021. Applications are due on August 27th, at 11:59 pm PT.
Accelerators 🏎
Geovation is an accelerator in London for founders in the property space. They run two main accelerators: PropTech and GeoTech. PropTech is run in collaboration with the HM Land Registry and supports technology businesses in the property industry who use geospatial data in their products/services. GeoTech is dedicated to start-ups developing location-based services or products. Applications are now open, apply here!
Funding/duration: £10,000 for the first six months with a further £10,000 if you can create and deliver a prototype within six months. The standard programme duration for the Geovation Accelerator programme is 6 months.
Location: London
Seedbed Accelerator is an accelerator programme for startups in the Social Enterprise sector. The programme gives you access to loan funding, workspace and seminars designed for social entrepreneurs. To be eligible, you will need to have a social venture based in South West England. Applications are open now, apply here!
Funding: £1000 loan finance available. The standard programme duration is unknown for the Seedbed Accelerator.
Location: Devon
ICE Propel is ICE’s coaching and fundraising network for Black founders. ICE Propel will coach founders in their fundraising journey and give them access to our investor community. Their programme consists of three core elements for selected Black founders:
1:1 Fundraising Coaching Programme and dedicated ICE Mentor.

Connection wIth the wider ICE Community
Criteria include: you are based in the UK, you are a Black founder or CEO, your business is Pre-seed or seed-stage (less than £350k raised to date) and your business is technology-focused or technology-enabled?
Competitions: Women in Innovation Awards 🌟
The UK government has launched the Women in Innovation Awards for 2021/22. The award is dedicated to women with exciting, innovative ideas who will inspire others to apply for a £50,000 grant and bespoke business support. Applications open on the 23rd of August and open on the 6th of October at 11 am.
Competitions: Accel Euroscape 🏆
Applications are now open for Accel’s 2021 Euroscape competition, the list of the top 100 SaaS companies across Europe and Israel.
