Firstly we would like to announce our 60th London New Tech pitching event! This is going to be a big one as two of our partners will be joining us for the event: Sterling Law and TechTree. From next month, Sterling Law and London New Tech will be collaborating on a legal webinar series that aims to support startups and founders from start to exit. Tech Nation has published a useful Toolkit for founders to create a more inclusive and diverse workplace. Tech Nation’s Toolkit provides you with actionable insights and guidance to help founders build diverse and inclusive companies.
In this article Scott Kupor, Managing Partner at A16z, discusses five essential pitch tips for founders. Some of the key questions founders need to be able to answer are when pitching to VCs are “why you and why not someone else?”, “is your idea 10x better than your competitors product?”. Accelerators 🏎
Here’s some useful links to a few accelerators hosted in the UK.
Apply now to the Entrepreneur First London cohort. The EF accelerator was one of the first accelerators launched in the UK and brings together people who do not know each other but share a common goal. The program lasts 6 months and you will get access to funding, mentors, and experts. Founders receive £16,600 – £19,900 for startups created during the programme in exchange for 8% equity. The deadline is on the 18th of July and the late deadline on the 22nd of August.
Apply now to the Founders Factory accelerator program. Founders Factory runs an accelerator for early-stage companies in the areas of fintech, beauty, health, media, travel, ai and big data. Founders will receive £30,000 in exchange for 5-8% equity. The program provides 6 months of bespoke support tailored to your startup's needs and growth objectives.
Apply now to the Oracle startup accelerator which is aimed at B2B cloud-based startups. Founders will receive 70% discount on Oracle cloud from day 1, $500 of free cloud credits (with the option to apply for more), migration and technical support with live monthly webinars as well as get access to a wealth of tech knowledge and some of the best leaders in the tech and cloud computing industry.
Apply now to the Y-Combinator Winter 2022 batch by July 19th at 8pm PT. This is an early deadline to give founders access to YC on their timelines. Learn more about who the early deadline is for and when you will hear back with a decision here.
